 Not bad for the price... July 26, 2010

I installed this item in my Chevy Astro Van to replace a smaller unit that had died. I mounted it on a communications rack cover plate,
made of aluminum with pop rivits. The plate was mounted to the two spar roof supports, one over the front seats, and the other over the second row seats. It sat nicely behind the overhead console for the driver.
Only problem we can see is that the monitor is susceptible to hard road vibrations and shudders a little. this is due to the size and the single pivot mount. A little padding on each side of the monitor when it's down and no problems.
The other problem we have is that I found that I have to mount the monitor with a slight down angle towards the back of the vehicle.
Otherwise, the screen gets very dark. That and throw in a bright sunny day and you can hardly make out some of the movies.
So, I shimmed the rear support mount and installed some matching hard foam cut to shape between the unit and the padded roof. No shaking and it's quite solid. Now we can see quite well and the family loves it. And it looks like a factory install. You can't even
tell it's in the van from the outside.

Bad Amazon experience with this purchase. The unit worked for one day, but the polarity was reversed. It was provided by this seller as new, but it was used. Scratches on plastic pieces, and they should have cleaned the sneeze splatter off of the display prior to applying the "this should make you think it's new" protective plastic coating. Incredible. Don't get taken for over $100 like I did. Buy anything else anywhere else some other way, and you'll be better off than buying this unit from this seller on amazon.
